Hip prosthesis is a material made from platin that is biocompatible with the body used in cases to replace the hip joint where it does not function. Hip prosthesis is used in arthrosis in the first place and in hip fractures and in cases where the hip joint must be removed such as cancer. Hip prosthesis must be placed right away following fractures, because thrombi are formed in fracture sites, which result in adverse events including paralysis, or even death.

Care must be given to the following conditions after transplantation of the hip prosthesis:

  • Living in places with cold climate must be avoided,
  • Stooping forward when in sitting position to pick up objects must be avoided,
  • Not to lift knees to levels higher than the hip level,
  • Eastern toilets must not be used, because this will challenge the knees,
  • Legs must not be crossed for at least 7-8 weeks,
  • Since the prosthesis has a limited lifetime, risky behaviors such as falling or crashing must be avoided and muscles numbered strengthened,
  • Excessive stooping forward must be avoided when sitting down or standing up.
