Based on the definition by World Health Organization, stroke is a functional disorder involving a region of, or the entire the brain with sudden onset and without any cause except for vascular causes. Stroke can result in death as well as permanent damages in bodily functions. Stroke can be the result of bleeding or obstruction in cerebral vessels, and gives rise to cellular death of brain cells in the area that blood flow stops because of failure in meeting the vitally important requirements including oxygen and glucose, which are transported in blood. In consequence, that area of the brans loses function, and various signs appear in patients.
